How does art reflect history, culture and society?
Creating a color wheel color can be a thoughtful meditative process. The students are first asked to research mandalas from two different cultures then they create their own using a color wheel as a reference. Color wheels are what artists employ to understand how best to mix and to create harmonic color combinations. They are based on observation of the way light is broken down in a prism. The results of the students' wheels were stunning and each had a beautiful mandala and a color wheel that they can refer to when painting or decorating or meditating.
